Another Appearance and More Books for Wounded Warriors

We participated in the Chaplains’ Night at Ft. Sam Houston Military Base in June.

We will be speaking to the Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC) at the Ft. Knox Army Base in late September. Wounded Warriors will be given a free copy of our book On The Wings of The Wind, a true story about keeping the faith.

We welcome requests from any military base to invite us to come to their PWOC Women’s Bible Study.

All Profits Go to Wounded Warriors

We told you recently about our work with the Wounded Warriors. We have been inspired seeing these brave soldiers recovering from their devastating injuries, and we have been blessed to see how much reading On the Wings of the Wind has helped them.

We have decided to use all our profits from the sales of our book to buy more books to donate to these Wounded Warriors and their families. We started with Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas this year and will continue to donate books to Wounded Warriors at the other medical centers throughout the United States.

Every book you order for yourself, family, or friends comes with a free CD of beautiful music and faith. The proceeds above the cost for us to purchase the book will benefit our brave soldiers who have sacrificed for our freedom.

Thank you for helping us help them.

Thanks

We have received three lovely pieces of mail recently.

Jan Doughty got her copy of the book in St. Louis last fall when we met through the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR). She wrote:

Once I arrived home (Redmond, Washington) I started to read it and couldn’t put it down. Her life is very inspirational anduplifting. I had to share this book with my daughters. After they read it, I felt it really wasn’t just a book for women, but for men as well. Therefore, I gave it to my husband and sons to read as well.

Thank you for writing this book and sharing it.

Eleanor Niebell, another lovely person we met through SAR, wrote this:

“On the Wings of the Wind” has been of great help to me since I lost my dear husband, Paul, in 1995, and my brother, Graham Thomas Smallwood, Jr., in 2000.

At present, I am now at Chapter 11 – Happiness Fills the Heart and by coincidence my bookmark is “Angels on Earth.”

To help you in donating this book to our wounded soldiers, I am enclosing (a check) which should aid in their understanding of prayers.

We were also honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from Fort Sam Houston for our work with the Wounded Warriors.

Wounded Warriors

We were invited by the Battalion Chaplain to participate in Chaplains night at the Wounded Warrior and Family Center this week. We were deeply honored to do this.

The Center is a beautiful facility for the wounded soldiers and their families. There are eleven full-time employees serving our military troops.

Many of the wounded warriors have been there since 2005. We talked to 45 injured military members, and the average number of surgical procedures each had was 17. There are approxmately 640 wounded warriors receiving treatment there.

We have been asked to come back again with On The Wings of The Wing because our story and the Scripture references inspired and encouraged the wounded troops.

We were so thrilled to see our soldiers and families reach out to accept this book that shares Scriptural truth about how they too can find God in their life story as we have.

Workshop on the Holy Spirit

We will be attending the ELCA Lutheran conference in Austin, Texas, Saturday, March 14, 2009.

We will present two sessions of a workshop about the Holy Spirit. About 150 people from 15 churches are eagerly looking forward to hearing the message on the Holy Spirit.

Pat spent seven years living as a widow and proving, as the Bible says, that the Holy Spirit will come upon you and help you. This experience led to her writing On the Wings of the Wind. The book also includes proof that there is a God.

On the Wings of the Wind Available as Kindle Edition

The Kindle is Amazon.com’s e-book reader. On the Wings of the Wind is now available for the Kindle.

Note that the Kindle edition is published by the authors, while the print edition is published by LangMarc Publishing. Therefore, they are on two separate pages at Amazon.com.

If you like to read e-books but don’t own a Kindle, remember that you can order an e-book version of On the Wings of the Wind and download it from this site.

Update from Pat Taylor

The Protesant Women of the Chapel met in Dallas, Texas this past weekend with over l,000 women attending. Delores Lewis was so enthused about the book that she passed out postcards about On the Wings of the Wind to the women from the various military posts and bases in the United States, Asia, and Europe.

Delores also sent cards with Chief of Chaplains Doug Carver when he returned to his home in Washington D.C.

Early this month of November, Pastor Taylor and I were invited to The Women of San Pedro Hills Club to talk about our book, On The Wings of The Wind. We were well received and attendees were enthusiastic about the book.
