Note from a Reader

Reader Deloris Lewis sent this note:

I received the book, On The Wings of The Wind. I’ve started already to read it, and it’s wondeerful.

I love to read along with the parts I can identify with, being in the military.

Today, we had a Chaplains Spouse luncheon, and I told all the ladies about the book On The Wings of The Wind.

One of the women at the luncheon I knew from Heidelberg, Germany remembered seeing your picture in a Poland pottery shop with one of your books. She said you had given them the free rights to use your name to help their country.

Two New Great Reviews

Libraries Alive: National Church Library Association: Rating: 4 (Highly Recommended)

“It is a book many people can relate to about lost love and new love found. It is a story for all on the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.”

The Midwest Book Review (Highly recommended)

Recent Events

We attended the Fredricksburg Fall Festival, September 20, 2008 in Fredricksburg, Texas. We had a great response and sold MANY copies of On the Wings of the Wind. Some people purchased the book to read themselves, and some as gifts for those who had lost much in the Texas hurricane.

At a recent state convention of the Southwest Synod Women of the Evangelical Lutheran in America,  September 26-28, in Corpus Christi Texas, we presented two workshops back to back in the morning. The workshops, On the Power of the Holy Spirit and Faith for Today, were huge successes at the convention. There was standing room only, and we had to turn away thirty-five more delegates. Comments were all positive, and many of the 250 people attending from all over the State of Texas expressed interest in having us speak to their groups as soon as possible to present the same type of workshops using the Bible and our book as the texts. Many appreciated hearing about and seeing a book so interesting and easy to read about the Holy Spirit working in their lives.

We even got a compliment: God knew what He was doing when He put us together to bring the Holy Spirit to life in On The Wings of The Wind.

Three Things Readers Say about On the Wings of the Wind

We find it interesting that we hear the same three comments about On the Wings of the Wind over and over again:

  • I can’t put it down when I start to read it.
  • I’m reading it twice.
  • My husband wants to read it, too.

We’re happy to hear these comments because we know people are learning about the Holy Spirit and developing a new relationship with Him.

Interviews and Booksignings

Today we were interviewed by Phil Davis of Authors on Net. The podcast will be available online in about a week, and we will link to it.

Thursday, August 28th, we are at the August Birthday Celebration for the Ladies Fellowship and Bible study of Triumphant Lutheran Church, on Bat Cave Road, Bracken, TX.

We will sign our book at the Lighthouse Cafe at Stone Oak, Thursday, September 18, 10:00 AM, then stay for the luncheon crowd.

Kudos from a Reader

Pat and James,

I finished your very inspirational book. It is nice to know people who are deeply bound to their faith. Without faith . . . we lose hope . . . and without hope . . . we are truly lost !!! Our faith and hope place us in position to serve . . . to serve others and thereby serve God !!! All we truly have to offer in this mortal world is our service to others.

Thank you for sharing your lives and your faith. Be Blessed . . . and Count Your Blessings !!!

Traveling and Advertising

We just returned from a trip. Everywhere we went, we distributed cards about On the Wings of the Wind. We passed out about 500 cards at rest stops, in hotels, and just about every place we stopped.

The message about the power of the Holy Spirit is so powerful and so important to everyone’s spiritual life that we want to share it with everyone on the planet.
